MARKETING & SALES
Lala Links Permanent Jewelry
I am the Branch Manager of Lala Links’ 14th location in Los Angeles, a role I accepted in July 2024. This position has given me the opportunity to grow and learn extensively about social media marketing, building on the knowledge I gained from several marketing courses at the Walton College of Business. In this role, I actively reach out to local businesses to host our pop-ups through social media, phone calls, and in-person meetings to establish strong partnerships. I schedule pop-ups every month for three employees while managing the lalalinks.losangeles Instagram account. I like to plan content at least two weeks in advance, and although launching a social media presence from scratch can be challenging—especially since this location just opened in October 2024—I am excited to see it grow through boosting posts and creating engaging reels. Below are some images from previous pop-up events with host businesses & our instagram!
By far, the most important part of the job is the incredible collaboration with our host businesses! Lala Links wouldn’t be possible without their support and partnership. Over the past months, I have maintained a good rapport with each host. These strong relationships have allowed me to return each month and set up our pop-up events successfully. In addition to our partnership, both Lala Links and the host businesses actively promote our pop-up events on their social media platforms. This collaboration not only helps spread the word about our activities but also draws in more attendees, benefiting everyone involved.
Customer Relations
Walton Sales Competition
The Walton Sales Competition is a major event in the Walton College of Business, , where participants team up to create a sales pitch for a client. During my senior year, my partner, Lauren Glenn, and I represented Walmart in a pitch to Pepsico, aiming to increase the availability of their Pepsi and Mountain Dew 12-packs on our shelves. The data we used for the pitch was provided through the college, but it was up to us to conduct a successful meeting with the Pepsico team. To enhance our presentation, I created some graphics using Canva to promote the products, which the PepsiCo team greatly appreciated. Although it was an exercise for students, we actually had the opportunity to meet with real salesmen from PepsiCo. I am proud to say that Lauren and I placed in the top 10 out of 87 teams. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of my Selling & Sales teacher, Rob McEver, who helped me build confidence and develop my negotiation skills.
Passion Projects
During my Digital Marketing course, my professor, Chris Medenwald, assigned the students a task to create a marketing campaign. I immediately envisioned a campaign for Drew Barrymore’s kitchenware line, Beautiful. My concept for the brand was to showcase how beautiful the world is through a limited edition collection. Having just returned from a summer internship abroad, I drew inspiration from some places I visited, incorporating elements that would blend well with the campaign. This project remains one that I am truly passionate about.
